Nassau, New Providence— Bahamas Power and Light Company Limited (BPL) is deeply saddened to confirm the passing of a staff member following an electrical incident in Grand Cay, Abaco this afternoon, July 28, 2026.

Further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the matter are underway.

BPL extends its deepest condolences to the employee’s family, loved ones, colleagues and the wider Abaco community during this extremely difficult time.

The identity of the employee is being withheld at this time out of respect for the family and until all appropriate notifications have been made.

BPL is committed to providing the necessary support to affected employees and will share additional information at the appropriate time.
