Nassau, Bahamas — Bahamas Power and Light Company Ltd. (BPL), in partnership with the Bahamas Electrical Workers Union (BEWU), brought the spirit of Christmas to the Ranfurly Home for Children through an $8,000 holiday donation and an afternoon of fun, food, and festive celebration.

This year’s celebration was made even more special as 25 residents were gifted with brand-new Nike Dunks and a Fusion Superplex gift card. The female residents were also surprised with Pandora bracelets. The partnership between BPL and BEWU ensured that the children not only felt remembered but genuinely cherished during this holiday season.

BPL CEO Toni Seymour shared heartfelt remarks as she thanked the staff and encouraged the children to enjoy the festivities. “BPL is proud to return to the Ranfurly Home, and even prouder to do it bigger and better than last year. Today is all about you, celebrating, laughing, eating, and creating memories.” She continued, “We wish every one of you a very Merry Christmas and a safe, prosperous New Year.”

BEWU President Kyle Wilson echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the union’s commitment to supporting young Bahamians. “Partnering with BPL means more than powering the country; it means empowering our people. It is because of God’s goodness, grace, and mercy that we can give back today, and it brings us joy to help make your Christmas happier and brighter. This is what the season is all about.”

Home Administrator Ingrid Devaux expressed deep gratitude for the continued relationship with BPL and the union.

The visit included food, outdoor games, laughter, and warm fellowship, making the afternoon a memorable one.

As BPL continues its commitment to “Build for Better,” the organization remains dedicated to supporting young people who remain at the heart of our communities while spreading light in every sense of the word this holiday season.
