BPL Male Employee Involved in Abaco Industrial Accident Remains in Stable Condition

NASSAU, The Bahamas — Bahamas Power and Light Company Ltd. (BPL) wishes to advise that the male employee involved in an industrial accident in Marsh Harbour, Abaco, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, remains responsive, is in stable condition, and is receiving medical attention in New Providence.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that a male employee sustained an electrical shock while performing maintenance work on an underground cable near the Regattas of Abaco resort. Marvin Green, Regional Manager for the Northern Family Islands Division, confirmed that “Immediate on-site assistance was provided, and emergency protocols were activated without delay.”
He further noted that the employee “sustained burn injuries to his arms and was airlifted to New Providence late Saturday afternoon for further medical evaluation and treatment.”
Green also advised that all requisite repair work at the Regattas of Abaco resort was successfully completed, and power was restored to all affected customers as of Saturday, October 18, 2025.
BPL remains in contact with the injured employee’s family and medical team. The entire BPL family continues to offer its prayers and support during his recovery process.
