Eleuthera Island-Wide Outage Report

At approx. 11:02pm a trip occurred at the Hatchet Bay power plant affecting customers in north central and south Eleuthera and harbour island.

Power was restored to customers in Alice Town and North Eleuthera at 11:11pm and 11:22pm respectively. Attempts to restore power to Central Eleuthera failed and a crew was dispatched to investigate.

At Harbour Island Station, the station also experienced a complete blackout as a result of a loss of power on their Hatchet Bay incoming feeder at approx. 11:02pm. Units 1,2,3,4,7 & 8 were placed online and power was restored to Dunmore Town and Up The Track Feeder at 11:20pm and to Narrows Feeder at 11:40pm respectively. Customers in a section of the Narrows remained without power temporarily due to low voltage concerns until power can be restored from Hatchet Bay.
At the Rock Sound Station, a complete blackout occurred at approx. 11:02pm. A loud noise was heard on Unit5 which was online at the time. At 11:11pm Unit 3 placed online and power was restored to customers in Tarpum Bay and Rock Sound. power remained off to customers south of Rock Sound.
Technicians have investigated and discovered a downed line restoration is underway.
